Sri Lanka will receive technical support from Japan to form a national power master plan.
Recently in the Sri Lanka office of Japan International Cooperation Agency , Ceylon Electric Power Bureau and the Japan International Cooperation Agency on the "Sri Lanka power overall planning research project" to achieve technical cooperation.
Ceylon electric power bureau is responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of a stable, efficient and economic power supply system, has prepared for a long-term investment plans.
These plans to determine future investment projects, such as power generation, transmission lines, substations and distribution network to meet future needs. And formulated in accordance with the overall planning, including the elaboration of power demand model and power system analysis.
Through the latest power master plan, Sri Lanka aims to develop the national power generation, transmission and distribution of a whole plan over the next 25 years.
The project will consider Ceylon electricity board as part of the implementation of the party may by 2040, facing the challenges of new technologies, such as expansion of renewable energy, private sector participation, pumped storage power station, optimal operation of coal-fired power plant, railway electrification and local natural gas and liquefied natural gas use.
In addition, the project will include the development of the optimization of financial strategies, through the audit and analysis of the current level of Ceylon Electric Power Bureau, the cost of institutional and financial capacity and other financial data to develop.
Cooperation projects will be implemented by the Ceylon Electric Power Bureau and the Japan International Cooperation Agency experts formed a joint research team. Because the project will face a high level of technical challenges, the full cooperation between the two experts will be the key to the success of the project.
