Angolan cable company said it has completed the South Atlantic Cable System (SACS) cable path research. The cable system is directly interconnected in Africa and the South American continent.
The 6500 km South Atlantic Cable system is expected to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2018 and will be interconnected to another 10556 km Monet cable developed by the Angolan cable.
The Monet Cable system is designed to deliver over 60Tbps capacity between Brazilian Santos, Fortaleza and Boca Raton. The six-pair fiber group system is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in 2017.
In addition to building a submarine cable system, in order to expand its counterpart capacity in sub-Saharan Africa, Angola Cable chose one of Africa's largest Internet exchange points, NAPAfrica, as a network of peer-to-peer meetings.
